Spots are unfortunately a thing of nature. Everyone gets the odd one here and there. Rubbish as that sounds I’ve got the perfect duo for busting those pesky spots and pimples from my face.
Now before I start this I have quite good skin, only getting the odd spot on my chin about that time of the month, but a year or so ago I used to get quite a few in my t-zone, especially in-between my eyebrows. They were always angry and red but were never the kind of spot that came to a head, just caused an unnecessary amount of pain to make up for it.
They say that prevention is better than cure, so to help keep any spots at bay I swear by La Roche-Posay’s Effaclar Duo(+), this has been out for rather a long time and I did use and swear by the original before they improved the formula but it’s safe to say I love it, and so does my skin. I apply it on top of my moisturiser only in the areas that I would be most prone to get a breakout: so my t-zone, around the sides of my nose and the bottom of my jaw line where it meets my chin. I use less than a pea sized amount so the tube lasts a fair few months, but I always bulk buy when Boots has a good offer seen as three or four days without this can mean a spot appears inbetween my eyebrows and resembles a third eye- attractive eh?
So I mentioned the hormonal spots that can appear on my chin? Well theres nothing to really stop one or two of these popping along but I have found that applying a tiny bit of the Deep Clean Pore Purifying Mask by Una Brennan (which has recently been reformulated with Salicylic Acid) onto the spot really dries it out, reduces redness and draws any icky bits to the surface of the skin. Ideal for busting that hormonal spot. I also like to use this mask on my T-zone and round the sides of my nose and I’ve noticed that it really does help out with any small blackheads around that area, clearing them up as fast as they appeared.
Now it is worth me stating that this duo may not work for all of you, but if you do have a slightly oilier T-zone than the rest of your face and find you mostly get the odd spot on your forehead then this method will hopefully work for you too. But Boot’s is 3for2 on all skincare at the minute so what are you all waiting for? Go bust some spots!
