It’s that time of the year when packages arrive on what feels like an hourly basis, and if I’m honest not many of them are for me (if we ignore a fair amount of Amazon packages- but they’re all for gifts, honest!) so when a parcel was delivered that had a bag of Butterkist Gingerbread Popcorn in, I had to whip up a hot chocolate, and try not to eat the entire bag while doing so…
If you like toffee popcorn then this will be right up your alley, a richer and more full caramel sweetness with just a touch of gingerbread flavour will make this the perfect Christmas Eve snack while watching a Christmas film/ watching the Santa Tracker online (I can’t be the only one who does this?) To create my hot chocolate I made it as I usually would do, half hot milk and half boiling water, with a rich drinking chocolate, but I added half a pump/ half a cap full of caramel syrup and another half of gingerbread syrup to really add the festive touch. Which, when topped with whipped cream (a lot of it!) made it match perfectly with the popcorn.
A perfect Christmas treat if I say so myself, so much so that I’m braving the shops today to go and stock up on both drinking chocolate and Gingerbread Popcorn! Wish me luck, seen as it is meant to be the busiest day for shopping! Let’s hope I don’t get stuck in a trolley war over a bag of carrots eh?
Do you have any Christmas Eve snacks or drinks of choice? I’d love to know others that I can try! Or have you braved the shops today and got stuck in the snack aisle for 20 minutes battling with other trolleys?
The Butterkist Gingerbread Popcorn was kindly provided for me to try and have a festive nibble on, all opinions are my own and now I’ve well and truly found a new festive favourite!
