So it’s been a little quiet here for the past two weeks, but none the less I’m back and things can go about getting back to normal. This break has happened because of my own fault. I tidied my room, and yes while often that would lead to maybe a coughing fit because too much dust has been inhaled or finding an old top that still really suits you,
I managed to stand on a sewing needle and get part of the needle stuck in my foot (I find it necessary to mention that at the time I was unaware that there was still part of a needle in my foot as to me it looked and felt like the needle had been pulled out clean).Queue about 10 days of wavering amounts of pain and swelling, an Easter weekend phonecall to 111 who told me to take pain relief and ring my doctor when they opened (because the pain and swelling was only getting better) and my inability to walk correctly going down the pan it was an interesting week or so. I spent all the time I wasn’t working keeping it elevated in order to reduce the swelling (so blogging wasn’t the main priority for me), then the doctor told me to get an X-ray, the X-ray showed clear as day that a ‘foreign body’ was living in my foot and what ended up being minor surgery under General Anaesthetic on Friday meant that the needle no longer calls the outside of my left foot home.
The iodine took a while to get off and apparently I’m not the best at changing dressings but all is looking good so far and I’m due to get the two stitches out a week today. The last 5 days have been a bit of a world-wind for sure, it was news to everyone that there was still part of a needle in my foot, I just thought I’d injured a muscle! So now I’m back walking nearly normally and can go back to normal life, however I wont be tidying my room or sewing for a while. I’d quite like to not have to be admitted to hospital again.
In other news I went to a food festival on Easter Sunday and got hold of a can of Fanta Lemon; I didn’t even know this stuff still existed in can form in the UK, so that was a pleasant surprise. Otherwise the weather is finally on the up and spring may have finally sprung, although this is the UK and I probably have spoken too soon; oh so typically British to speak of the weather.
So the news is now over for me, I’m excited to get back into the swing of things on here, I missed this little portion of the internet.
